Mensen die niet alleen zelf graag het ijs op gingen, maar die dat plezier ook met anderen wilden delen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Twee namen zijn onlosmakelijk met die geschiedenis verbonden: <strong>Klaas Hulst en Jaap Dekker<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Klaas stond samen met andere schaatsvrienden aan de basis van De IJshazen. Jaap was vanaf de beginjaren nauw bij de vereniging betrokken. Met veel enthousiasme, inzet en vooral een grote liefde voor het schaatsen hielpen zij mee om van De IJshazen een bloeiende schaatsvereniging te maken.<\/p>\n<p>En dat lukte. bij de KNSB en ging binnen de vereniging training geven. Uiteindelijk bleef het niet bij training geven alleen. Ook zelf ging hij wedstrijden rijden en groeide hij uit tot een bijzonder succesvolle masterschaatser.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Maar misschien nog mooier dan alle sportieve prestaties is dat de passie waarmee het ooit begon nooit verdwenen is.<\/p>\n<p>Decennia later staan Klaas en Jaap nog altijd op het ijs en zijn ze nog steeds verbonden met De IJshazen. Het schaatsen bleef een belangrijk onderdeel van De IJshazen, maar daar kwamen andere trainingen en activiteiten bij.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">In de zomer stapten de leden op de skeelers en de racefiets en ook de droogtraining kreeg een plek binnen het programma. Zo werd De IJshazen een vereniging waar leden niet alleen in de winter, maar het hele jaar samen kunnen sporten.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Wat in al die jaren niet veranderde, is misschien wel het belangrijkste.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">De IJshazen draait om mensen die graag bewegen, elkaar uitdagen, elkaar helpen en vooral veel plezier beleven aan samen sporten.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Dat was zo in de beginjaren.<br \/>\nDat is vandaag nog steeds zo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Veel kilometers achter ons. Zijn liefde voor het schaatsen begon al jong op het natuurijs en bleef zijn hele leven bestaan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Na zijn voetbaljaren pakte Klaas het schaatsen weer serieus op. Hij volgde een trainersopleiding bij de KNSB en ging training geven aan andere schaatsers. Later begon hij ook zelf wedstrijden te rijden en werd hij een fanatiek en succesvol masterschaatser.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">En stilzitten doet hij nog altijd niet. Samen met Klaas Hulst zette hij zich met veel enthousiasme en energie in voor de ontwikkeling van de vereniging.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Die betrokkenheid is nooit verdwenen. Jaap is niet alleen zelf een fanatiek schaatser, maar zet zich ook als trainer in voor De IJshazen. Daarmee geeft hij zijn ervaring en liefde voor het schaatsen door aan andere leden van de vereniging.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Zelf staat hij nog altijd graag op het ijs. Hij traint in Thialf en rijdt ook wedstrijden. In 2025 behaalde hij op de Weissensee zelfs brons bij het Open Nederlands Kampioenschap marathon voor masters 70+.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Niet alleen zelf blijven sporten, maar ook anderen enthousiast maken voor het schaatsen. Wat begon vanuit een grote liefde voor het schaatsen, ontwikkelde zich tot een actieve vereniging waar inmiddels het hele jaar door wordt gesport.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Naast het schaatsen kregen ook skeeleren, wielrennen en droogtraining een vaste plek binnen de club. Trainingsvormen veranderden, materialen werden moderner en nieuwe generaties IJshazen vonden hun weg naar de vereniging.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Maar de basis bleef eigenlijk verrassend hetzelfde. Samen trainen, elkaar helpen om beter te worden en vooral plezier beleven aan het sporten.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">In al die jaren zijn er heel wat kilometers afgelegd, wedstrijden gereden, persoonlijke records verbeterd en vriendschappen ontstaan.
